For Telal Femina in Al Kharj, URU’s design brings the brand’s commitment to Arab identity and contemporary fashion into conversation with the landscape and cultural references of Saudi Arabia. The 270 sqm boutique is conceived as a setting where clothing, craftsmanship and place tell a connected story.
Telal’s official brand story traces its beginnings to Saudi Arabia in 1987, followed by expansion into the UAE and Oman. Its fashion philosophy brings contemporary expression to Arab dress while retaining a connection to cultural identity. Telal Femina carries that approach into abayas and modest womenswear, with an emphasis on fabric, tailoring and personal expression.
Telal describes its ethos as “Rooted in tradition and inspired by fashion.” For URU, this became a design question: how could a boutique feel recognisably part of Telal while belonging to its Saudi setting?
The Saudi landscape provides the starting point. Dune-inspired colours give the interior a warm, quiet foundation, allowing the collections to remain visually prominent. The ceiling design takes its cue from the forms and movement of sand dunes, carrying the landscape reference above the retail floor.
Together, palette and ceiling establish the spatial character of the boutique. The design translates the dunes into an interior language of colour and form, connecting the experience of the store to its setting.
The wall art draws on the red-and-white patterns of Al-Sadu weaving and the iconic Shemagh headscarf. These textile references bring a distinct Saudi cultural expression into the boutique, complementing the dune-inspired colours and ceiling forms.

The design brings landscape and textile together: the dunes inform the spatial palette, while the wall art introduces pattern and a connection to dress and craft. This relationship between fabric, identity and place speaks directly to Telal Femina’s focus on fashion.
URU’s interior design scope included custom displays, furniture, lighting and ceiling elements. These were developed as parts of a coordinated setting, with display focal points and visual connections helping customers discover the collections.
The design intent is to give Telal Femina a distinct identity in Al Kharj while maintaining its relationship with the wider brand. Bespoke elements connect the practical needs of merchandising with the story of the space, creating a consistent backdrop for changing collections.
Telal Femina illustrates URU’s approach to boutique design: begin with the brand, understand the place and develop the retail environment around both. For an established business entering a new market, that means considering what should remain recognisable and what should respond to the local setting.
For your next boutique or retail rebrand, URU can help develop brand strategy, naming, logo and visual identity, packaging and store design as a coordinated brief. Whether you are launching a new concept or repositioning an existing business, share your audience, product range and ambitions so we can define the scope together.
