What does Uru Design Beyond specialise in?
Uru Design Beyond is a full-service architecture and interior design studio based in Dubai, UAE, specialising in luxury residential villas, commercial and retail fit-outs, restaurant and hospitality interiors, and institutional architecture. The studio also provides structural engineering, MEP engineering, and project management services in-house, allowing end-to-end project delivery from concept to handover.
Do you work outside Dubai?
Yes. Uru Design Beyond works across seven countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and India. The practice was founded in Kozhikode, India in 2015 and established its Dubai studio in 2025 as Uru Design Services LLC.
How long does a typical interior design project take?
A typical interior design project takes between four and eight months from brief to handover. Residential projects generally complete in four to six months. Larger commercial or hospitality projects may take eight to twelve months, particularly when custom joinery, imported materials, or complex MEP coordination is involved.
What is your process from brief to handover?
Uru Design Beyond follows a five-stage process: Discovery (brief, site, client requirements); Concept (spatial narrative and design direction); Design Development (technical drawings, specifications, finishes); Construction (fabrication monitoring, site delivery); and Handover (documentation, as-built drawings, post-occupancy follow-up).
What is your minimum project size?
The studio typically works on projects with a construction or fit-out value of AED 500,000 and above. Contact hello@urudesign.ae with your project brief for an initial assessment.
What sustainable design practices do you follow?
Uru Design Beyond integrates climate-responsive design into every project, including passive solar orientation, natural ventilation, shading, thermal mass appropriate to GCC conditions, and material selection prioritising low embodied carbon. The studio designs to LEED and Estidama standards and provides sustainability consulting as a standalone service.
Do you incorporate biophilic design?
Yes. Biophilic design is a core element of the interior and landscape approach, including living walls, water features, natural material palettes, daylight optimisation, and outdoor-indoor spatial continuity.
Can you design to LEED or Estidama standards?
Yes. Uru Design Beyond has experience designing to both LEED and Estidama Pearl Rating System standards, providing documentation support, energy modelling coordination, and liaison with certification bodies.
Are your material specifications environmentally certified?
Where possible, the studio specifies materials with recognised environmental certifications including FSC-certified timber, low-VOC finishes, recycled content tiles, and materials with Environmental Product Declarations.
Which countries in the GCC do you work in?
Uru Design Beyond has completed or active projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait. The Dubai studio provides access to all six GCC markets.
Do you work with Indian clients based in the Gulf?
Yes. The practice has a well-established history serving South Asian clients across the GCC, and the India studio (Uru Consulting LLP, Kozhikode) also serves NRI clients with projects in India.
Can you handle interior fit-out alongside the architecture?
Yes. Architecture and interior design are practised within a single studio, ensuring spatial decisions at the architectural stage are fully coordinated with interior design intent.
How do you charge for services?
Uru Design Beyond charges on a fixed-fee basis agreed at the outset, structured across the five design stages and invoiced progressively as each stage completes.
