One studio. Every discipline. No handoffs.
Architecture, engineering, and interior design coordinated under a single technical leadership — from the first sketch to construction handover.
Form shaped by climate, not convention.
New build and adaptive reuse across residential, commercial, and institutional typologies. Orientation, massing, and shading are resolved at concept stage — not as afterthoughts. Every project begins with a bioclimatic analysis of its site.
Discuss a Project →Interior as architecture continued.
Spatial strategy for luxury residential, retail, F&B, and hospitality. Material selection, lighting logic, circulation, and acoustics resolved together — not separately. The interior is not decoration applied to a shell; it is the shell, continued.
Enquire →The ground plane as a climate system.
Landscape designed with the same rigour as the building envelope. In the Gulf, well-designed outdoor environments reduce perceived thermal stress, extend usable hours, and lower mechanical cooling demand on adjacent interior spaces.
Enquire →Structure that serves the spatial idea.
In-house structural engineering means structural decisions are made in the same room as architectural decisions — at the same time. Column placement, span strategy, and slab depth are resolved before they constrain space, not after.
Enquire →Services that disappear into the building.
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems coordinated within the BIM model from the outset. Duct routes, riser positions, and ceiling void depths resolved before a contractor price. In the Gulf, HVAC is not a detail — it is a primary spatial determinant.
Enquire →Design intent protected through construction.
Construction oversight by the same team that produced the drawings. Programme tracking, contractor management, variation assessment, and quality monitoring on site. The gap between a good drawing and a good building is closed by people who understand both.
Enquire →Bioclimatic intelligence for the Gulf.
Passive cooling, solar orientation, shading strategy, thermal mass, material certification, and energy performance — resolved at concept stage, not retrofitted at the end. We design to LEED and Estidama standards and can provide standalone sustainability advisory for projects designed by other architects.
Our Sustainability Charter →Conflicts resolved in the model — not on site.
Full Revit BIM coordination across architecture, structure, and MEP. Clash detection run before tender. Photorealistic renders produced from the same model — not as a separate visualisation exercise. Every variation avoided in the model is one less instruction on site.
Enquire →Do you offer all services in-house?
Architecture, interior design, structural engineering, MEP engineering, project management, and BIM are all delivered in-house. Specialist sub-consultants for acoustics, facade engineering, or fire consultancy are engaged where required and coordinated by our team. You deal with one point of contact throughout.
Why does in-house integration matter for project outcomes?
When structural engineers, MEP engineers, and architects sit in the same room and work from the same BIM model, coordination problems are caught in the model — not in the field. The financial and programme impact of a clash discovered on site is an order of magnitude greater than one resolved in a design review. Integration is not a service proposition; it is a quality mechanism.
Can you take on projects where design is complete and only site supervision is needed?
Yes. Uru Design Beyond offers standalone project management and construction phase supervision. We are experienced in picking up projects mid-stream and aligning with existing documentation and contractor programmes.
Do you work on commercial and retail design as well as residential?
Yes. Our commercial portfolio spans retail fit-outs, F&B and restaurant interiors, office design, and institutional buildings. The typology changes; the standard of integration does not.
How do you handle authority approvals in different GCC countries?
Our team has experience with approvals in Dubai (DDA, DM), Abu Dhabi (TAMM, ADM), Riyadh (Baladia), and Doha (MME). For markets where we are working for the first time, we partner with locally registered firms to ensure compliant submission while maintaining design control from Dubai.
What is the minimum project size you typically work on?
The studio typically engages on projects with a construction or fit-out value of AED 500,000 and above. For standalone sustainability consulting or BIM coordination, smaller scopes are considered. Contact hello@urudesign.ae with your brief for an initial assessment.
