This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you interact with our website at urudesign.ae, submit an enquiry, apply for a role, or subscribe to our journal.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data you provide directly

• Enquiry form: name, email address, phone number, country, service required, budget range, and project description.
• Job application form: name, email address, phone number, discipline, experience level, portfolio URL, and cover note.
• Newsletter subscription: email address only.

2.2 Data collected automatically

• IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited — via Google Analytics 4 (if configured).

3. How We Use Your Data

• To respond to project enquiries and assess fit with your brief.
• To process and evaluate job applications.
• To send our journal newsletter (only if you subscribed; unsubscribe any time by emailing us).
• To understand how our website is used and improve it (analytics, aggregated and anonymised).
• To comply with legal obligations applicable in the UAE.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the basis of:

• Legitimate interest — responding to enquiries you initiated, processing job applications you submitted.
• Consent — newsletter subscription; you may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation — where UAE law requires retention of business records.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Enquiry and application data is stored in Google Firestore (Firebase), hosted by Google LLC on servers that may be located outside the UAE. Google's infrastructure is subject to its own data processing agreements, which comply with applicable data protection frameworks.

We retain enquiry data for up to 3 years from submission, or until you request deletion. Job application data is retained for 12 months from submission. Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe.

6. Third-Party Services

• Google Firebase / Firestore — form data storage and retrieval.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymised website usage analytics (if enabled).
• Google Fonts — typography loaded from Google's CDN.
• WhatsApp (Meta) — if you contact us via WhatsApp, Meta's privacy policy applies.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, advertising networks, or third-party remarketing tags on this website.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
• Withdraw consent for newsletter communications at any time.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@urudesign.ae with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and Firebase security rules restricting access to form submissions. No system is entirely secure; if you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. Children

This website is not directed at persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
